Super Arabian is the kind of game that can reduce a grown man to tears. It's bad...no, it's beyond bad.
It puts you into a numb state of shock. From what I can draw, it was released in 1985. A lot of fun
games were released in 1985 as well, so that's no excuse for it's badness.
Gameplay
I had no instructions with the game, so I just blindly stumbled around in
my new Arab costume. It seems the object is to collect all the letters in
each level. Also, if you put them in the right order, the letters spell
a word, like 'horse', 'rabbit', or 'shittygame'. When you successfully spell out a word, you get some bonus points.
These points do absolutely nothing, since you'll be out of lives and back at the title screen by the third level (if
you're lucky enough to make it THAT far).
While collecting the letters you have to dodge a diverse set of enemies, like the pink-dog-crap-of-death, or the
thousands of wingless birds that have nothing better to do. The wingless birds seem to worship the god-like, winged bird
that floats atop every level. This winged bird acts as if it can do nothing for a while, but if it notices that you, God
forbid, are actually trying to play the game, it will swoop down and kill you instantly.
Graphics
I believe I can give you a good example of the graphics by vomiting in your lap. They are awful. Obviously the designers
were shooting for only having about three colors on screen at once.
The animation is almost non-existent -- everything pretty
much slides across the screen.
Sound
The sound will make you want to scream. The music is simply a ten second
nails-on-chalkboard screech, that loops over and over and over and over!
In EVERY level! There also seem
to be about three other sound effects in the game for jumping, falling, and dying.
Wow, such variety.
Longevity
After playing this game once, you will never want to play again. But that's a good thing.

Overall
You'll probably never be one of the lucky few that get to play this game, but if,
for some reason, you come across it somewhere, run away! Run away and DON'T LOOK BACK!
