| September 17, 1999 Floyd hits southeastern Pennsylvania. Matt loses house to nearby creek and is forced to take shelter at his grandparents'. There, on a laptop and in a bored mind, the seed of a website is sown. (Lee, who lives miles from any body of water, is inspired to claim in his internet profiles that he also lost his house during Floyd, evoking sympathy from unsuspecting net-Samaritans.) |

| October 1999 Counter implemented. Main "index" created, and the site is now anchored to a main page. HitNRun wins Worldcourt Case #00002 and his bid for LRD to be recognized as black is sustained. HitNRun also creates his well-received People Profile section. Jakub creates a site whose relationship with the World is not dissimilar to that of a Japanese brother/best-friend/archrival. |

| January 2000 Site's first recorded update is posted, highlighting Dave's short-lived Bad Word Dictionary. First of 87 times Dave will violate Angelfire policy over the next two years. |

| February-August 2000 Golden era of Lee humor. Highest ranking members of the World staff create dozens of cut-and-pasted sound bites. Tears flow. Dave creates the "You're Grounded" pic of Hogan, one of the simplest yet best pictures of its time. The "cleric" wave is also created, which was, proportionate to the number of people who heard it, the funniest .wav file on the Internet. |

| Eastertime, 2000 Archive is created, Kruk begins creating his wildly popular Gates. May features the hottest update month of this "prehistoric" era of The World, including Gates from Kruk, Interviews from Jim, and a New Look to the site. Lee Interactive Story and Story of Lee's Family are proclaimed "almost done," remaining unfinished to this day. |

| Summer 2000 Phil the Answer Guy section is created, as well as the much loved Poll Question. Allakhazam decides to quit his job and live off public donations, and we manage to update our poll about as often as he does. |

| September 2000 Our first anniversary goes unmarked, but is in some way commemorated by the massive double-update to the Family section and the Guestbook section that was used half-heartedly since early last year gives way to a Message Board. Dave takes opportunity to post his funniest pieces of literature, including the "Principal's Office" story and the "Gym Class" story. Pete the Goblin is born. |

| October 29, 2000 Lee's Website is discovered. In it, he pretends to be a woman, ("Sabrina" from Pokemon) a harbinger of things to come that went largely unnoticed by us. |

| December 24th, 2000 The World begins its annual tradition of Holiday disasters by destroying a promise for a huge Christmas Eve update. We did not just break that promise- we shattered it, turning a December 24th bonanza into a January 12th open letter of apology. Items "delayed" in this catastrophe were never completed, with few exceptions. |
